Jury justification for the Fritz Wortelmann Prize 2023:
"Lukas Schneider and his team invite you to a very personal journey of examining your own body identities. In doing so, Lukas Schneider shows us body conventions, breaks them and pithily puts himself into perspective. Using a consciously chosen variety of figure-theatrical means, he intelligently creates an aesthetic one Kosmos, which allows the painfulness of artistic reflection to be experienced sensually. The production shows a high level of trust in the chosen form, skilfully oscillates between performative elements, scenes with precisely guided figures as well as cleverly used music and text material and creates the jump from the puppet about one's own body. All of this shows the remarkable courage of an individual artist and opens up a biographical inquiry into a larger social context."

Jointed doll forest goblin "Ratzewutz"
The process started with drawings of the character. It was supposed to be a kind of forest goblin, where it wasn't exactly clear whether he was good or deceitful. It starts with a rough shape made of foam, covered with volumetric fleece. The nose and other areas are then supplemented and gradually sewn on. Finally, the whole thing is covered with doll jersey and painted. Additional costume pieces and hair and the goblin is ready and can wreak havoc on the world's stages.
