Schneider puppet theater
The art of wandering between drawers and boundaries should show my fine puppetry as well as the joy and passion for and in the game.
In my productions, formally dusty traditions and narrow genre boundaries are to be turned inside out, as are social norms or traditions. It is my aim to tell light stories for adults who do not have much art/theater experience, as well as children. With new ideas, other emotions, other thoughts, other values that do not meet the norms, and therefore other views can become part of everyday life and a matter of course.
After technical training and further education, the fascination for the string puppet brought me back into puppetry, which is why I allude to its use in contemporary puppet theater. My body and its changes, as well as my voice and what I feel, should always develop and be incorporated.
Lukas Schneider works as a puppeteer, puppeteer, puppeteer, puppet maker in Germany and Switzerland.

Even as a child he was busy with a few cloths, clothespins, a lot of imagination and a few hand puppets. He first trained as a carpenter. After some professional experience, he continued his training and switched to work preparation as a technician at HF Holzbau. As a hobby, he took part in over 40 musical leisure events, as an actor and as a theater manager, and worked with amateur actors to create short plays/sketches on given topics. He also performed with ventriloquist puppets or self-written puppet theater pieces.
He later attended further training in puppet theater in Liestal with Margrit Gysin, Michael Huber and Irene Beeli, which he successfully completed in the summer of 2018 with his play “We Three”.
After almost 11 years in the carpentry trade, he decided to follow his dream and combine his hobby and career. He studied Bachelor of Puppet Theater at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart until October 2022. Among others, he has lessons with professors Stephanie Rinke, Julika Mayer, Florian Feisel and Ines Müller-Braunschweig. Among other things, animation, use of voice and body as well as figure construction are taught.
In addition to his studies, he further trained his classical singing voice with Denise Benz and Arion Rudari.
The process started with drawings of the character. It was supposed to be a kind of forest goblin, where it wasn't exactly clear whether he was good or deceitful. It starts with a rough shape made of foam, covered with volumetric fleece. The nose and other areas are then supplemented and gradually sewn on. Finally, the whole thing is covered with doll jersey and painted. Additional costume pieces and hair and the goblin is ready and can wreak havoc on the world's stages.
