Mask set

The aim is to create totally different expressions using different masks. First the mask was modelled out of clay and then cast with plaster to create a form. Finally, this mould was covered with Hartovit. This is how these expressive masks were created. It is important to note that they take on a completely different expression depending on the angle at which they are worn. The photos give an insight into the possible expressions. Built for a speech teacher friend of mine, the masks are intended to help evoke voices that are far removed from the actors' own personalities. That's why they are also half masks that leave the mouth free so that they can speak well despite the masks.
